Revolution needed in thinking

Its an irony for our country that we are headed towards a new milestone and yet majority of government schools do not even have a proper education infrastructure. While the government is set to provide the emerging students of this country a new revolution of technology, the question arises whether the new Aakash tablet will be beneficial to them or not? The Aakash in its launch was initially posed a challenge to the existing tablets in the maket; with its extremely low price as compared to other tablets priced above Rs 25,000. Aakash tablets come at a very affordable price of Rs 3,500 in the market and the government has set its price at Rs 1,600 for college and school students. The government isn't seeking to challenge any private firm with its launch but is in the view of revolutionizing education in  India.
The so called India's version of tablet has been very popular since its launch. But the question arises that whether students will be in benefit after getting this tablet or not? Launched as an educational device by the government this device has the complete potential to divert student's mind from education to fun activities. For instance the mobile phone initially was launched to fulfill the purpose of communication. But now it has become a device that is used for listening music, video calling, internet surfing, sharing videos which has its own positive and negative points.
The tablet which is the next generation of mobile phone also has the same features but it has additional feature of computers which makes it a little different product from mobiles. Today's youth is already loaded with lots of technical items; be it computer, laptop, mobile phones, I-pod and so on. With so much technical items all around a new product is yet to find its place in youth despite few of the people have already purchased the tablets paying a higher price for it even before the launch of Aakash.
No matter the government is focused towards revolutionizing education in India but the question is whether the students from backward sections of the society will be able to use this new technology as the people of India lack in technology or we can say that they are technically illiterate. Students from rural areas are mostly deprived of technology and professors of government school though not everyone are technically illiterate. Since the condition of government run schools is the worst in our country with more than half of the staff speaking a slang language; what can you expect from a batch of such professors to teach students? The government instead should have first focused on improving the education situation in the country by providing government run schools a good batch of professors. Only then can we expect our youth to become technically literate. Since we the youth are the future of our country we should be technically advanced and for that we need a special batch of trained professors.
Contradictory to this, the condition in urban area is exactly the opposite with students being far more advanced than the professors and this creates a communication gap between the students and the professors. In such cases students start disrespecting their professors because they are not well advanced which is again not correct.Being technically advanced means the students can even misuse the device which is meant for educational purpose. Nowadays, majority of youth are also disrespecting their parents because they think that they are more advanced than them. For instance, when parents warn their children about the bad consequences of their activities they simply turn a blind ear to their words and continue doing the same things for which their parents get upset. Also being technically advanced can even lead them to cause crimes for which they can be punished. Nowadys, social networking sites have a majority of youth visiting them and spending hours on these sites and doing nothing. These leads their degradation of knowledge and they are not ready to acquire new knowledge. In fact problem with today's youth is that first they waste their time doing nothing and when exams approach they panic and thus their stress level increases and some of them in regard to this even commit suicide. The youth then blame their syllabus stating that it is loaded and they cannot tackle it and start blaming the syllabus instead of looking at their own mistakes.
In both the cases professors, parents and students are equally responsible for this scenario today. Firstly the professors and parents cannot cope up with the modern technology that is coming their way. Secondly, the parents are responsible for not nurturing their children in the right manner. If they had done so their children would have listened to them when they warn them of bad consequences. Thirdly, it is the students who consider themselves the king of technology users in urban areas and start wasting their time proudly. Every youth should remember that time is the biggest power on this earth. When nothing existed on this earth time was there and when nothing will exist time will be there. So the only thing that everyone should remember is time for it does not wait for anyone. If parents nurture their children on time they will turn out to be good human beings and if students utilise their time they will succeed in every respective field.
